Nearly 10,000 participants were expected to
attend featuring more than 1,000 spiritual programs, lectures and interactive
cultural experiences. The Opening Ceremonies began with a spiritual ceremony
from Indigenous Nations on Turtle Island with greetings from the host First
Nation, the Haudenosaunee Confederacy and the Mississaugas of the Credit and
special addresses from local and international leaders. One could participate
in 6 different tracts: Indigenous Peoples’ Track, Women’s Track, Climate Action
Track, Justice: Advocating Concrete change toward a just, peaceful &
sustainable world Track, Countering war, hate & violence Tract and the Next
Generations Track. What an honor it was to be able to attend and participate!
Our focus was on the Indigenous Peoples’ Track. We could see the awareness of
the family of common purpose, taking responsibility for the transformation of
structures from a mentality of separation to one of interconnectedness. Sunray
teachings abounded throughout the Parliament. Especially the Seven Reminders
including, generosity of heart and action bringing peace and abundance for all,
to be in good relation, pacifying conflicting emotion and experiencing the wisdom
within.
