Join in Building a Sweat Lodge
Friday, July 11th through Sunday, July 13th
Greetings Friends,
Last summer, Chief Lee Plenty Wolf of the Lakota Nation suggested to us that we need to build a larger, more easily accessible sweat lodge. Currently, we have a small lodge in the forest down a very narrow and bumpy path, where we hold lodge ceremony for those who are coming of age, making vigil, or for private medicine requests.
We are making the commitment to build a new lodge that is larger, making good medicine for our larger community.
This will be a three-day adventure; you do need to be able to participate all three days. We will begin on Friday with teachings about the Sunray traditions of sweat lodge from Venerable Dhyani Ywahoo, as well as preparation of the site. Saturday we will be building the lodge. Sunday we will initiate the lodge with its first sweat. If you are not local or would enjoy camping, you are invited to camp at the Peace Village. Meals will be provided. All participants will be asked to make a donation to cover the costs of materials, food, and travel for guest teachers.

Contact Rev. Meli for more information.
