41st Annual Native American Elders and Youth Gathering Volunteer Application

We invite you to join the team of Volunteers preparing the land, buildings and spaces to host this hybrid gathering. It takes a village! We envision Volunteer work days happening between Monday July 21st and Thursday July 24th., as well as July 28th and 29th for clean-up. Additional work days will also be happening each weekend through June and early July to prepare the Peace Village Arbor.

Volunteers are asked to contribute at least 15 hours in exchange for camping and registration during the Elders and Youth Gathering. Meals are not covered and can be purchased separately.

After we review your information, we will let you know if your application is accepted.

    I agree to offer volunteer work for a total of 15 hours in exchange for a weekend pass without meals, and free camping. (Meals can be purchased in advance, see below).

    I understand that camping at the Peace Village can be physically demanding given weather and the semi wilderness of the area. I will provide my own camping gear – (see What to Bring below).

    I have reviewed the Sunray Code of Right Relationship and Rules of Conduct, and I understand that the Sunray Peace Village Retreat Center maintains a quiet, reflective atmosphere, and am prepared to honor this.

    What to Bring

    • Camping gear (tent, tarp, sleeping mat, sleeping bag, flash light) 
    • Appropriate seasonal clothing (rain gear and warm layers); please be advised that weather conditions can and do change quickly up in our beautiful Green Mountain home.
    • Food, stove, mess kit, cooking equipment, cooler (unless otherwise indicated by the event or program; meals provided only if specifically noted)
    • Bug spray, flashlight

    Meals and Registration

    Confirmed volunteers will be offered free camping for the week, and free registration without meals during Elders and Youth Gathering. We will send you a promo code to use in registration for the Elders and Youth Gathering. Food service at the Elders and Youth Gathering this year is offered with registration. Volunteers are invited to register and pay what you can for meals. In order to help with meal planning, we ask that everyone register for meals in advance.
